Colin has over a decade of experience curating collections of musical instruments, ceramics, artworks, craft items, and ethnographic artifacts.
As Adjunct Curator of Asian Art at Phoenix Art Museum, Colin currently manages a diverse collection of decorative arts, textiles, paintings, and works on paper from China, Japan, Sri Lanka, and many other countries of Asia.
As a past curator at the Musical Instrument Museum, Colin curated special exhibitions of Chinese antiquities and custom-inlaid guitars. He cultivated and refined a broad collection of instruments and artifacts from Asia, Oceania, and the Middle East, as well as familiar instruments from Europe and North America.
As a past curator for the Zayed National Museum in the United Arab Emirates, he has cultivated extensive knowledge of ceramics and other export goods from China, Japan, Vietnam, Thailand, and India traded along overland and maritime routes.
Colin also cataloged an extensive and diverse collection of artworks and artifacts from Asia for the Center for Asian Research at Arizona State University.
Colin frequently gives public talks and lectures on a broad variety of topics, including the musical and artistic cultures of Asia, connoisseurship and classification schemes, and the global legacies of cultural interactions throughout history.
Located in the Phoenix metropolitan area and available for in-person consultations throughout the state of Arizona and the United States.
